About Ms. Brohm

LET ME INTRODUCE MYSELF...
MY EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY

As a passionate learner, I hope to cultivate the joy of life-long learning with my students. When you learn, you’re able to develop a better understanding of yourself and your place in the world. You can develop new skills and talents to contribute positively to the world around you. You can also learn about new perspectives which can help you connect with others. You may affirm what you know to be true or learn something new and different. Either way, learning allows us to discover ourselves, others and the magical world around us.

As a teacher, I value students’ voice and celebrate diverse perspectives. Students are the leaders of tomorrow and I hope to empower them through a supportive classroom environment. This can men being open and willing to share or being brave and encouraging them to take risks. The classroom is a special place for students to discover their passions and interests. Within the curriculum, there is opportunity for students to share their input and express what is important and meaningful to them. I enjoy collaborating with students on lessons and assignments to personalize their learning experience.

Although I am always growing and changing, these ideas remain true to my heart and influence who I am as a teacher. I will always remain curious and continue to learn. I will always celebrate other's educational and personal development. When these two ideas create positive change, I am communicating my educational philosophy through action.

MY PERSONAL GOALS

As a goal oriented person, nothing feels better than checking an ambition off my list. When I first began teaching, my goal was to work at a public school overseas. After I was able to obtain a teaching position at an elementary school in South Korea, I began to dream about working at an international school in South Korea. While working there, I promised myself I would earn my doctorate degree. I am currently a doctoral candidate at the University of California. After graduating in 2024, I plan to walk the Camino de Santiago and contemplate where my life will take me and my next big goal. Whatever it is, and wherever it will take me, I know it will involve making a positive impact in education.
